National Telecoms Operator, Globacom has said it is convinced that the Nigerian future is bright because of the brilliance exhibited regularly by Nigerian children in different fields of human endeavour.
The company in a press release signed by its Executive Director, Special Projects, Mr Mike Jituboh, said it identified with the drive, passion and aspirations of Nigerian children as they celebrate this year’s Children’s Day.
“In the last couple of months, many Nigerian children have excelled and brought honour to their fatherland. There was the story of two Nigerian children, Samantha and Kelechi Okere who won the Oklahoma City University Regional Science and Engineering Fairs awards for their invention of bio-fuel as natural alternative to fossil fuel. There was also the story of a 10-year-old pupil, Seyi-Ojo Anjolaoluwa, who emerged the youngest Nigerian Microsoft certified professional and one of the youngest people in the world to attain such feat. Nigerian children are exceptional. They are unlimited”, said the statement.
Globacom noted that Nigerian children are highly talented and have the potentials to be world-beaters in all disciplines. “This is why Nigerian scholars excel whenever they have the opportunities outside the country. They only need to be exposed to the right environment and the most current teaching aids,” the message read.
The company called on Nigerian Children to eschew dishonesty, greed and laziness and rather work hard in their studies so as to become great men and women in the future. The telecoms giant said that it is building a network that will open the world of unlimited opportunities for “these leaders of tomorrow”.
