This company have the responsibility for upstream and downstream developments, and is also charged with regulating and supervising the oil industry on behalf of the Government. This corporation is commercialised into multiple strategic business units, covering the entire spectrum of oil industry operations: exploration and production, gas development, refining, distribution, petrochemicals, engineering, and commercial investments.The group also must also prepare for busier periods and infrastructure that allows for future upgrades.
Challenge
The Petroleum industry is changing rapidly, adapting to the trends and changes in the ways, its users are using technology, particularly the Industry specific applications. Although the customer locations are considered regional, in order to provide high end Petro-chemical exploration and distribution services, internet, MPLS and phone services must be of an excellent standard. Internet for Mission critical applications is always a priority but pivotal to the success of this petroleum group is a stable network that connects all sites enabling each site to be managed effectively and efficiently.

Globacom offered this Petroleum Company, a set of tailored solutions. The Customer has solicited offers from reputed Service Providers (SP) for providing MPLS and Internet Service connectivity to its Locations to enable effective communication and collaboration, also to extend shared services to the users enterprise-wide.
– The network should support any-to-any communication between sites.
– The service should include fully meshed any to any MPLS network, bandwidth
– The Service Provider’s design should give due consideration to scalability so as to accommodate any expansions and/or changes in the network in the future as per CUSTOMER’s requirement
Globacom took the end to end responsibility to offer installation, configuration, hardening, maintenance support, integration with LAN/WAN, proactive monitoring and reporting, capacity training etc., with service level agreement (SLA) to maintain uptime and application/service quality commitments for the customer.
Globacom have provisioned a Nationwide IP-MPLS connectivity, based Layer-3 VPN dedicated for CUSTOMER over is robust PAN Nigeria IP-MPLS backbone.
Globacom have covered for all the 139 CUSTOMER locations which included the CUSTOMER HQ and CUSTOMER DRC.
The network topology configured for the customer was full mesh connectivity, enabling Any-to-Any communications between all the CUSTOMER offices.
Preferred treatment was given to all the CUSTOMER originated traffic, enabling end-to-end QOS, with inter-CoS burstability across Globacom Network
Globacom have provided a PRTG Network Monitoring portal, deployed for the Network Monitoring and Reporting, Automated email alerts and Proactive monitoring by Glo NOC 24x7x365.
